2016年12月27日，应经济与统计学院张兴发讲师的邀请，威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校Zhang Chunming和Zhang Zhengjun教授来到广州大学经济与统计学院和岭南统计科学研究中心访问。并于当天下午在行政东楼412会议室给了一个精彩的学术报告。 经济与统计学院的部分老师和博士生以及研究生参加了学术报告。Zhang Chunming教授报告的题目为《Sparse Inference with Dependent Hypotheses》。文中主要提出一种依赖假设的稀疏推理。Zhang Zhengjun教授报告的题目是《Sure Explained Variability and Independence Screening》，文中主要介绍了解释变量的变异性和独立性，两位教授通俗易懂的讲解让与会老师和学生收获很多。。

Zhang Chunming教授，威斯康星大学-麦迪逊分校统计系教授，在统计学国际顶级期刊<Annals of Statistics>,< Journal of American Statistical Association>, <Biometrika>等发表多篇学术论文，现为<Journal of the American Statistical Association>和<Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference>的副主编。

Zhang Zhengjun教授，威斯康星大学-麦迪逊分校统计系正教授，在统计学国际顶级期刊<Annals of Statistics>,<Journal of American Statistical Association>和金融学国际顶级期刊<Journal of Banking and Finance>等发表多篇学术论文。
